Sunderland fans have been reacting to comments from manager Lee Johnson, who said that Will Grigg needs three weeks rest rather than the nine months that were initially feared.
Grigg has suffered with a knee injury for quite a while and, after he missed the Black Cats’ 0-0 draw with Northampton Town, there were fears that he could miss the whole of the rest of the season. However, it has now been revealed that this issue is not as serious as first thought.
Since signing for the club from Wigan Athletic in January 2019, Grigg has struggled to adapt. He has scored just eight goals in 61 appearances in all competitions on Wearside, with him yet to find the back of the net once so far this campaign.
Should Sunderland sell Will Grigg?
The supporters have been reacting to these comments, which were relayed on Twitter by James Hunter, and they have taken to the social media platform to share their thoughts.
Let’s see what the fans had to say about Grigg below
“Get him sold then”
“That’s good news now let’s get rid off the lad the biggest disappointment since Gary Rowell left the club.”
“Phew that’s a relief”
“Excellent – so we could still sell him before the window closes.”
“Great. Was getting worried about where the goals were gonna come from.”
In other news, Sunderland fans hammered this man against Northampton Town.
