Sunderland: Fans fume as next three fixtures postponed

Some Sunderland fans have been left fuming as their club informed the EFL that they will not be able to play their next three fixtures in League One.

As per a statement released on the official website of the Stadium of Light faithful, this is following an outbreak at the Academy of Light, meaning that as many as eight players had to sit out their 1-1 draw at home to AFC Wimbledon in what has now turned out to be their last game before Christmas.

It has left several Black Cats fuming for a number of reasons, namely why their match against Wimbledon was allowed to go ahead in the first place, as well as not being able to watch their team in the lead up to Christmas.

It also means that the Wearside club are likely to have a very congested fixture list going into 2021 if it was not already, given that they now have to re-arrange the next three games that have been postponed.
