Surely these 2 Leeds United players need to start vs Sheffield Wednesday later

Leeds United fans here in the Tavern are hoping that their side can secure all three points later today, as they still have an outside chance of challenging for a play-off place.

Paul Heckingbottom is going on in search of his second win as Leeds boss after drawing 2-2 with Reading last time out, in a match that saw the Whites throw away a second half lead. Indeed, with nine games left to play in the current campaign they’ll be hoping to string a couple of wins together, as many of our local residents are far from impressed with their current position.

The Whites welcome Sheffield Wednesday to Elland Road for today’s encounter in the Championship, as Jos Luhukay’s men will be looking to inflict defeat on Leeds United. And, with mistakes taking their toll on the result last time out against the Royals, there’s a number of changes that need to be made in the starting line-up prior to kick-off.

Therefore, here’s a look at TWO Leeds United players that need to start vs Sheffield Wednesday later on today…

Pierre-Michel Lasogga

Pierre-Michel Lasogga has been one of the standout performers for Leeds United so far this season, as the target man at the pinnacle of the attack.

Indeed, the German has managed to produce 10 goals in 27 appearances for the Whites since joining on loan from Hamburger SV, and Leeds will be sure to make this a permanent deal in the summer months.

Therefore, the 26-year-old has got to start against Sheffield Wednesday in today’s Championship fixture, to hold up the ball for onrushing teammates and to provide a goalscoring threat.

Stuart Dallas

Stuart Dallas has struggled to replicate the form he displayed last season for the Whites as a rotation player in the current campaign, with the return of Samuel Saiz pushing the 26-year-old out of the side.

Indeed, the midfielder has managed to produce two goals and two assists so far this season, with only 11 of his 26 appearances being starts in what’s been a slow campaign for Dallas.

However, he’s been a key member in the side since Paul Heckingbottom took over at the club, so must get his starting place back today against Sheffield Wednesday to offer a different dimension out wide.
