Many Sheffield Wednesday fans have reacted to the club’s narrow 2-1 defeat to Brentford on Wednesday evening which saw Cameron Dawson make a blunder.
Garry Monk’s side fell behind to a goal from Ivan Toney, who struck from close range after Dawson failed to deal with the former Peterborough striker’s first effort.
Wednesday, who sit rock bottom of the Championship with -4 points, got themselves back into the game through summer signing Callum Paterson but Brentford ultimately left Hillsborough with all three points. Toney netted his second goal of the game on the half-hour mark as the Bees now sit seventh in the Championship standings.
Reacting to the result, plenty of Owls fans took to Twitter and seemed unimpressed by Dawson’s performance and mistake for the opening goal of the game.

Dawson’s mistake saw him handed a lowly 5 out of 10 rating by the Examiner LIVE, whilst double scoring Toney has since revealed to The Star that Brentford had already done their homework on the 25-year-old’s goalkeeping skills.
Further to their reaction on the Owls’ goalkeeper’s mistake, other Wednesday fans were more circumspect about the “unlucky” defeat:
A for effort for 80% of them. Please play kachunga rather than Rhodes, never ever seen a sub have less of an impact. Get reach back to crossing it from deep

unlucky lads, still a massive improvement from last season
