Celtic fans here in the Tavern are worried that a couple of star players will leave in the summer, after another disappointing campaign in Europe.
The Hoops have dominated domestic football once against in the current campaign, as they remain on course for a treble with Rangers standing in their way of a place in the Scottish Cup final. Although, many of our local residents haven’t stopped stressing about the future of one of their star players, as according to reports in the Daily Record, Tom Rogic has yet to give Celtic a decision on his future.
Indeed, the Bhoys want to keep the Aussie international, who will advance into the final year of his current deal at Celtic Park in the summer.
And, negotiations remain ongoing between club chiefs and the midfielder and his representatives with the Hoops looking to secure an extension. However, as yet, Rogic has offered the club no answers as he continues to keep his mouth shut on the matter, something that’s worried many of our locals.
It’s believed that Rogic and his camp rejected an initial offer last month, but the situation remains open and discussions are still taking place. And, the ball now seems to be in the Aussie’s court on whether he wants to commit to a longer term, as the club now face an anxious wait.
Landlord’s Verdict:
Tom Rogic has been influential for the Hoops in the current campaign with goals and assists ever-present in his game, as one of the standout performers in the Scottish Premier League so far this season. Although, things aren’t looking good for the Glasgow side as they continue to wait for answers, with the Aussie possibly weighing up his options before deciding.
