Many Everton fans have been flocking to some early team news before their game at home to Aston Villa in the Premier League on Saturday lunchtime.
Speaking in his pre-game press conference ahead of the match, interim manager Duncan Ferguson has revealed (via Phil Kirkbride) that Fabian Delph has a ‘long term injury’.

He has not played since the Goodison Park faithful lost 3-1 away at Crystal Palace back in December, and some supporters of the Merseyside club were particularly critical of his performance in that fixture.
Nonetheless, his long history of injury problems has meant that he has never been able to get a consistent run in the team, and so with the January transfer window open, now may be the time for the Toffees to cut their losses on the central midfielder.
