Newcastle United fans here in the Tavern are hoping for major improvements on the transfer front before the end of June. Indeed, the Magpies have made a very slow start to the summer transfer window, so they’ll need to land a special deal in order to salvage this month. 

Rafa Benitez has worked wonders over the past couple of seasons at St James’ Park, but he will need to improve things on the transfer front. Of course, after only managing to bring in three players on loan back in January, the Spaniard will need to secure at least one big-name permanent signing this month.

The Magpies struggled for defensive solidity at times last season and could lose their star man Jamaal Lascelles this summer, so a defensive addition could prove crucial.
