‘Thanks Emenalo’ - Chelsea fans think they dodged a bullet by not signing 24-year-old

The Chelsea fans in the Transfer Tavern wanted Antonio Conte to bring in a few more players over the summer…

After a mad rush in the last few days of the window, the Blues were able to land a few key targets, but there is one player that they missed out on.

Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain was touted with a move to Stamford Bridge, with the Blues even having an offer accepted for his services, but he made the decision to move to Merseyside instead, much to the frustration of those in the Transfer Tavern.

He seemed perfect for the Chelsea first team, able to fill in fantastically on the right-hand side of the defence and in the heart of the midfield.

However, it wasn’t to be, and a move to Liverpool ended up happening. Fortunately for the Blues, he hasn’t made the best start to life at Anfield, having struggled to make an instant impact and he looked poor against Leicester City last night.

Unsurprisingly, the Chelsea fans on Twitter haven’t been very sympathetic, with many touting the failed move as a dodged bullet…
