‘That’s the wrong player’ - Man United fans on Twitter want one thing despite agreement reveal

The Manchester United fans in the Transfer Tavern have been reacting to the news that D’Mani Mellor has signed his first professional contract with the club, with the details of the new contract on the Manchester United website. Whilst the news of Mellor’s contract is a cause for celebration, the fans have been eagerly awaiting the announcement of Fred as a United player.

The Brazilian midfielder, Fred, is the real reason that United fans will be getting excited this week. The combative yet creative midfielder has been in stellar form for Shakhtar Donetsk this season and even helped the Ukrainian outfit to beat United’s Manchester rivals, City in the Champions League group stage at the back end of last year as his Shakhtar side advanced to the Champions League knockout stages past Napoli and Feyenoord.

The 25-year-old who’s amassed seven caps for the Selecao, has won six major trophies in his time in the Ukrainian league, although he’ll be keen to add to that figure when he makes the move to Old Trafford in the coming days. Jose Mourinho will be looking forward to having Fred in his midfield as he’ll be the key ingredient alongside the midfield that they’ve already got with Paul Pogba, Ander Herrera and Nemanja Matic.
