After a third place finish last season and a title push that looked like it would yield the Premier League trophy, right until the final few weeks the Tottenham fans here in the Transfer Tavern can’t wait to see their side try and do better next year.
It was a campaign that saw the likes of Dele Alli, Harry Kane and Eric Dier become household names despite their young ages, and give a glimpse for Spurs fans as to what the future could hold with those players as their team’s spine.
Throw into the mix that Mauricio Pochettino has become one of the most coveted managers around and Tottenham’s fans have a lot to shout about.
The aforementioned Alli, Kane and Dier deserve the accolades they have been getting but Tottenham’s rise has been down to more than just those three.
Our landlord certainly thinks so and reckons this THREE deserve just as big a mention……

Christian Eriksen
With Dele Alli scoring freely from midfield it was easy to forget that the Danish international was doing just the same for Spurs.
]Eriksen scores goals, lays them on for his team-mates and is all-round a class player in the centre of the pitch.
The former Ajax man completely pulls the strings in Tottenham’s midfield and deserves to be recognised as a top class player.
Jan Vertonghen
Whilst Toby Alerweireld was getting all the plaudits for his defensive displays – and rightly so – Vertonghen was getting overlooked.
Spurs had one of the best defences in the league but that wasn’t just down to the former Southampton man, Vertonghen played just as an important part as Alderweireld and their understanding of one another’s game will be key in the Champions League next year.
Mousa Dembele
Another of Spurs’ Belgian stars his influence on the team was plain to see once he was suspended for the final exchanges of the season.
Dembele is a real driving force in midfield, he breaks up play, gets his team up the pitch and can strike a ball too making him perfect for the Premier League.
Spurs need someone similar as back-up because when he’s not playing the team look a lot weaker down the middle.
