After a relatively slow start to their season, Celtic have begun to put some superb form together and most recently came off their second successive 5-0 victory at the weekend.

Celtic beat fellow title contenders, Hearts 5-0 at the weekend to close the gap at the top to one point albeit with Celtic also having one game in hand. After a tumultuous summer where Celtic lost star forward, Moussa Dembele, and rumours began to emerge that the former Liverpool boss could be on the way out, to now be second in the table shows how good Celtic's squad is.

In Europe unfortunately, Celtic haven't been able to replicate their recent domestic form, and have only won two games in Europe.

In order to continue their domestic form and improve their chances of winning their 10th successive title, Rodgers will need to bring in some new recruits in January and according to Football Insider, Celtic are set to reignite their interest in Iran defender, Milad Mohammadi.

The Breakdown

The Iran international impressed during the World Cup and due to his impressive performances over the summer, Celtic will face competition from Watford and Fenerbahce.

Mohammadi currently plays for Russian Premier League side Akhmat Grozny and has played 12 games for the club this season. Valued at £2.52 million, the Iranian would be a great addition to the squad and would provide some valuable depth behind Kieran Tierney and may even provide some competition for the impressive youngster.
