‘The club should go all out to sign him’, ‘Txiki, do your thing’ - Man City fans urge club to land January target

The Man City fans in the Transfer Tavern are beginning to get quite excited at recent reports regarding their side’s apparent transfer targets. The Citizens have had a quiet month so far, but that appears to be set to change over the coming week or so.

According to Goal, Man City are targeting Aymeric Laporte this month as Pep Guardiola looks to improve the options at his disposal in defence.

Rated at £22.5 million by Transfer Markt, Laporte is a fantastic young defender that has been impressing in La Liga for a number of years. Strong in the air, comfortable with the ball at his feet and a real dominating force at the back, he ticks all the boxes for Pep Guardiola

Unsurprisingly, all this transfer talk has left the Man City fans over on Twitter feeling very excited indeed. The signing of Laporte, for many, appears to have been received fantastically, with supporters recognising Pep Guardiola’s deficiencies in defence.

When combined with talk of a potential move for Fred, also via Goal, there is a near unanimous sense of delight amongst the Citizens over on Twitter. Whilst they’re clearly pleased with the squad at Guardiola’s disposal, they’re very excited to see it get even better.
