With Jose Mourinho in charge of Manchester United these days, the Red Devils were always going to restore at least some of the blockbuster feeling they used to ooze with ease.
Having already landed Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Eric Bailly and Henrikh Mkhitaryan already, the Manchester giants have been linked with a midfielder that took EURO 2016 by storm in order to complete their monumental rebuild.
Paul Pogba Joe Allen has been increasingly touted as a potential Mourinho target following his sterling efforts towards the end of last season, as well as his impressive role in Wales’ emotional journey to the semi-finals of the European Championships.
While the Welshman isn’t the most illustrious of names, his dynamic and efficient performances could feasibly make him a favourite of the self-proclaimed ‘Special One’.
Clearly, moving across the North West is something not often done, though it’s not like the 26-year old is a legend at Anfield.
Entering the final year of his deal, perhaps the former Swansea City man could prove to be a masterstroke Mourinho signing.

Morgan Schneiderlin didn’t enjoy the best of seasons at the Theatre of Dreams upon his arrival in Manchester last season, though the Frenchman surely showed enough class while with Southampton to be given another chance.
Mourinho often prefers a bruising engine room lynchpin, think Nemanja Matic, to sit deep and stop opposition attacks.
An imposing figure, the 26-year old is mobile enough to hold up a midfield three, though composed enough to hold in a strict formation.
His passing range is not often praised, and while he’s no deep-lying playmaker, the Les Blues international can keep possession ticking over.
CM: Paul Pobga
Unless you’ve been living under a rock for the past few months, you’ll be well aware that Paul Pogba is strongly linked with a record-breaking return to Manchester United.
Now, it takes none of the bar-stool experts in the Transfer Tavern to profoundly state that the French midfielder’s arrival would be a good thing for the Red Devils.
Still, his importance in Mourinho’s burgeoning midfield three is simply crucial.
Like his aforementioned compatriot, the 23-year old is an imposing physical specimen, capable of keeping up with the pace and power of life in the Premier League.
He also possesses the engine and attacking enterprise to roar forward, akin to something of a heavy-horse cavalry when United hit teams on the counter.
The barnstorming box-to-box option.
CM: Joe Allen
Nowhere near as illustrious as the man just mentioned, but Joe Allen’s arrival at the Theatre of Dreams makes total sense in this system.
In the two Frenchmen previously mentioned, the Red Devils boast a mobile midfielder bruiser and a marauding machine, able to break behind enemy lines at the drop of a coin.
To truly complement the pair, the ‘Special One’ needs a willing runner to plug gaps, who boasts the passing range to either keep possession or push forward.
When asked to defender, the former Swansea City could slot alongside Schneiderlin, harrying down the opposition.
Enter, Joe Allen.
Excelling under Jurgen Klopp’s high intensity brand of football, the Welsh international would be a clever option to task with doing the exact job just described.
