Next season is looking like it could be a very exciting one for Chelsea fans inside and outside of the Football Transfer Tavern.

A couple of huge signings have already been announced, with more no doubt on the way, and Antonio Conte looks set to be a real star at Stamford Bridge.

Between a new manager and a few new signings, Chelsea’s first team could definitely be given a bit of a rejig going into the 2016/17 season, with Conte set to add his own touch to a side that disappointed so much last year.

Judging by Conte’s previous success’ – it would be difficult not to back Chelsea for a successful period over the next year or so, with Conte no doubt building an unstoppable XI.

With that, here is a FRIGTENING eleven that will help Chelsea dominate next season….

Goalkeeper – Thibaut Courtois

One of the best young keepers in world football; Thibaut Courtois is the first name on any Chelsea team sheet.

The young Belgian is such a good goalkeeper, offering real consistency and reliability between the sticks.

It was always going to take a top keeper to fill the boots of the departing Petr Cech; but Thibaut has done it seamlessly.

Chelsea need to ensure they hold on to Courtois for the next few years, as he could be a real part of future success at the club.

LB – Cesar Azpilicueta

One of the few players that really performed consistently last year, Cesar Azpilcueta is, like Courtois, one of the first names on this Chelsea team sheet.

Able to play on either side of a back four, the natural right back has fit in seamlessly on the left hand side over the past 2 or 3 years, and will no doubt continue this trend next season.

Many fans would like to see him on the right; but if it isn’t broke – don’t fix it.

CB – Kurt Zouma

Kurt Zouma suffered a terrible injury around the turn of the year that kept him out for the final few months of the season in what was a real crushing blow for the impressive defender.

He looks set to return over the next few weeks or so, and whilst he may miss the start of the season, he will no doubt be back by the end of the year as Chelsea look to solidify themselves at the top.

Zouma offers power and passion in the back line, and as this defence will NOT include John Terry – that is vitally important.

A future Chelsea captain – Zouma HAS to play.

CB – Kalidou Koulibaly

With Gary Cahill woefully out of form and John Terry coming to the end of his career, Chelsea are in dire need of a long term central defensive solution.

Koulibaly has been a long-term target of the club, and is seemingly the man that Chelsea are chasing to take up the central defensive mantle.

The quick, technically gifted defender will be a perfect partner for Zouma, with the style of play of the pair complementing perfectly.

A rock solid central pairing, Koulibaly would be a star at Chelsea.

RB – Ola Aina

Branislav Ivanovic had the worst year of his career last season, and despite being given a new one year contract – his position in the first team has to be questioned.

Whilst Chelsea may well look externally, the club have a homegrown talent waiting in the wings to take up the mantle on the right hand side of the defence.

Ola Aina has been a consistent star through the Chelsea development system, and has been the standout player so far in Chelsea’s first two pre-season games this summer.

He is a pacey, technically gifted defender; and would be a real asset for the Blues now and in the years to come.

He recently signed a new long-term deal at the club, with the Blues warding off interest from a number of top sides.

They clearly rate him, and he has all the talent – but whether he gets a chance or not remains to be seen.

CM – Nemanja Matic

Nemanja Matic had a season to forget last year, but with a summer off and a new manager; we expect him to be back to his best going forward.

His first 18 months in Blue were fantastic; he had the defensive prowess of a Makelele, whilst also offering rampaging forward runs a-la Yaya Toure – and if he can regain that form he would be unstoppable.

He was occasionally over run in midfield alongside Cesc Fabregas, but that shouldn’t be a problem alongside his new central midfield partner.

CM – N’Golo Kante

Chelsea’s latest signing came with a hefty price tag; but he is worth every penny.

He was one of the main reasons that Leicester won the league last year, with the midfielder offering an unstoppable force in the midfield; allowing his team mates to bomb forward and supply balls to Jamie Vardy and co.

In a Chelsea defence that lacked decisiveness and commitment; Kante will be a perfect fit.

What a good signing.

CM – Cesc Fabregas

Cesc Fabregas had a decent year last season, but it definitely wasn’t one of his best.

Playing alongside Kante and Matic will do the Spaniard wonders, as it will allow him to play farther forward without the pressure of needing to get back and defend.

Fabregas is at his best when he is running towards opposition defences and sliding in balls to the players ahead of him; and in this new role in the Chelsea team he will be able to do exactly that.

If he can regain the form of his opening season in Blue he could lead Chelsea to the top of the league on his own.

LW – Eden Hazard

Last year, simply put, was not good enough for Eden Hazard. And he knows it.

Everyone knows how good he can be – on his day he is unstoppable. And it is essential that he gets back there next season.

He will be given every opportunity to do so, so expect him to play regardless of form – but he will win Chelsea points on his own if he gets back to his best.

FWD – Diego Costa

Everyone knows how good Diego Costa is, and despite Michy Batshuayi recently signing – you would expect that Costa retains his place.

In his first season in Blue he was absolutely unstoppable, offering Chelsea an offensive threat that fans here in the Football Transfer Tavern hadn’t seen in years; and it was a real joy to watch.

If he can get past his injury issues and get back to doing what he does best – minus the negative, aggressive side of his game – he is a guaranteed 20 goal a season man.

RW – Willian

Chelsea’s player of the year last season; Willian HAS to play.

Offering electric pace and rampaging runs whilst also maintaining an enviable defensive engine – Willian is truly the complete midfielder.

He will no doubt get EVEN better next year; and we cant wait to see what he will pull off in a Chelsea team that is hopefully in better form all together.
