The Micah Richards Triangle

The World Cup is over. Let the horse trading begin in earnest!

Sounds like a musical instrument for the hard of hearing.

We’re just getting reports in that the Micah Richards brochure has indeed been rather well thumbed this week.

Manchester City, who are said to be taking great strides to ensure that there is no repeat of the 4th spot near miss that was their last season – and are definately looking to move Richards on.

Tottenham’s interest has been declared courtesy of Harry Redknapp’s ‘harmless remarks’ technique aka casually telling the nation’s footballing press he thought the player was ‘triffic’ or similar.

Aston Villa have been dragged into proceedings as Roberto Mancini pursues James Milner. The Italian wants to do a part ex for Martin O’Neill’s charge. This is largely due to Villa’s prohibitive pricing policy. But it has to be said that this is also due to the fact that Richards would probably do a good job at Villa and both parties see this.

But the real news is that Liverpool have perhaps rather curiously, turned this into a 3 horse race. Presumably the readies will come from Roy Hodgson’s impending departures. Well, at least it won’t be from the sale of young Fernando.

Well now, when it comes to football, one man has for many years been the most noticeable, the most controversial, and occasionally the most successful blogger this country has ever produced. His pithy words and abrasive style make him as famous off the pitch as he is on it. This man is Escapini. "I love football. Football she's a cruel mistress. She's, she's more than a mistress. She's a wife, she's a mother, she's a daughter, she's an errant child. She's a… she's a… she can make you laugh, she make you cry. She can bring tears me eyes. She can bring blood to me shoulders. She can bring a kettle to the boil." "Cause football is about nothing, unless it's about something and what it is about, is football."
