Arsenal fans in the Football Transfer Tavern will be heading home happy this evening after watching their side progress to the last eight of the FA Cup following a convincing 2-0 win over Middlesbrough earlier today.
A double from Olivier Giroud inspired the Gunners who are considered the favourites to retain their crown with Chelsea, Manchester City, Tottenham and Southampton all out of the competition.
Arsenal fans can look forward to the draw tomorrow night in the knowledge that avoiding Liverpool or Manchester United at the quarter final stage will see them firm favourites to make another trip to Wembley for a cup semi-final.
That would go some way to contributing to the successful season Arsene Wenger is in desperate need of with his side having been inconsistent from the word go this term.
But as we head into the final third of the 2014/15 campaign, Arsenal are looking good for a top four finish whilst FA Cup and Champions League success remains in their own hands.
And importantly, the Gunners are scoring plenty of goals.

Jack Wilshere vs Manchester City
A sweet moment for Jack Wilshere arrived in the Arsenal vs Manchester City clash with the England midfielder coming into the season with something of a point to prove.
This was a timely reminder of the class he has in his locker after exchanging passes with Aaron Ramsey and coolly lifting the ball over the on-rushing Joe Hart to make the score 1-1.
Having missed the past few months with injury, Arsenal fans will be hoping he can get back to that sort of goalscoring form again soon.
Alexis Sanchez vs Manchester City
And the goal that put the Gunners 2-1 up in the same game was even better.
Alexis Sanchez produced a moment of shear class to prove he was worth every penny spent on him this summer with a superbly controlled volley from just inside the box.
The Chilean powered the ball with placement and accuracy over Joe Hart and into the top corner although sadly for Arsenal fans, it didn’t turn out to be the worthy winner.
Hector Bellerin vs Aston Villa
The young Spaniard has been a pleasant surprise for Arsenal fans this season, slotting in at right back comfortably.
And the former Barcelona youth team player scored his first Gunners goal in the recent 5-0 win over Aston Villa and it was one to remember.
The ball arrived to him just outside the box and Bellerin showed all the calmness and composure of a veteran to coolly slot the ball into the bottom corner with a superb first time finish.
Olivier Giroud vs Manchester United
This was the game that marked Olivier Giroud’s return from injury and although the Gunners suffered a disappointing 2-1 defeat to their bitter rivals, the Frenchman bagged a wonder goal on his return.
Running onto a long ball with minutes remaining, Giroud hit a thunderous first time volley from the edge of the box that flew beyond the dive of David De Gea and into the top corner to give the Gunners brief hope.
Aaron Ramsey vs Galatasaray
Moments like this are becoming more and more frequent over the course of Aaron Ramsey’s Arsenal career; if only he can remain fit.
His strike at Galatasaray in the Champions League group game will go down as a contender for the goal of his career so far.
The Welshman met a loose ball on the edge of the box with an unstoppable first time strike that flew into the top corner.
His technique was of the highest order although Arsenal fans have not seen enough of it this season.
