Whilst Arsenal’s season will ultimately be defined by their failure to win the Premier League title once again, despite having their best chance in over a decade, there is still highlights to look back upon fondly.
The Gunners boast an array of attacking talent and that ultimately leads to plenty of goals, although not always, but it’s left us with some quality efforts to look back upon and remember from this disappointing Arsenal campaign.
With Arsenal now effectively out of all competitions, as it’s nigh impossible for them to claw back an 11 point deficit with seven games go, Gooners can instead eye the illustrious honour of goal of the season- a trophy fans across the world dream about.
Sure, it may not come along with a place in history, a bundle of cash or a spot in European competition but at least it’s some what positive- Arsenal fans certainly need that positivity given their season!

Flamini’s second goal against Spurs
A League Cup affair between north London rivals Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur. An expectation of a fiercely contested battle and a difficult one to call. A sky full of stars to watch- and Mathieu Flamini ends up as the match winner!?
His brace against Spurs will go down in Arsenal folklore and whilst both efforts were decent, his first was the best. With the ball dropping down from orbit, Flamini arrived from nowhere and kept his eye on the ball all the way as he fired an inch-perfect volley into the bottom corner of Michel Vorm’s net.
Alexis’ effort against Man United
Six minutes into Arsenal’s clash with Manchester United at the Emirates Stadium, where the Gunners stormed to a 3-0 result, Alexis Sanchez came up with a moment of magic to set the Gunners on their way and crush the opposition.
He skipped his way around the defender and fired a ferocious shot into the top right-hand corner of the net, leaving the opposition hapless, and it put Arsenal on their way to a comfortable result that was sealed inside only 20 minutes.
Elneny’s first Arsenal goal
Arsenal’s Champions League double-header didn’t give the Gunners the result they wanted but two shining-lights emerged from the second-leg. The first was the rise of Alex Iwobi but the second, Mohamed Elneny, could be a massive asset.
Signed in January, Elneny scored his first Arsenal goal at the Nou Camp and it was certainly one to remember. Coming to the Egyptian on the edge of the area, he cooly side-footed the ball into the top corner of the net and out of the reach of a diving Marc-Andre Ter Stegen.
Giroud’s acrobatic effort against Bayern
Olivier Giroud scored two against Bayern Munich this season and both will be remembered for different reasons. The first gave Arsenal a victory at the Emirates whilst the second came during the Gunners heavy defeat in Munich.
Giroud provided the shining moment of Arsenal’s trip to Bavaria though with a spectacular overhead kick to leave the best goalkeeper in the world, Manuel Neuer, helpless. Taking one touch to control Alexis Sanchez’ clipped cross, he then provided the magical moment to give Gooners something to think about.
Chambers’ curler against Burnley
Commentators will often talk about the magic of the FA Cup and Arsenal defender Calum Chambers provided a magical moment as the Gunners advanced past Burnley, as he scored a tremendous curling effort to overcome the Clarets.
Played the ball at a tight angle, Chambers looked up and spun a staggering effort with the outside of his boot into the far corner. It was a goal Cristiano Ronaldo himself would have been proud of- and it came from a young centre-back!
