These 2 Arsenal players will need to be at their best if they are to have any chance of beating Man Utd – agreed?

The Arsenal fans in the Transfer Tavern aren’t feeling too confident about their side’s impending clash with Man Utd. The Red Devils have been in scintillating form, whilst the Gunners have conversely struggled to get a solid run of form going in the Premier League this term.

Fortunately, Arsenal are coming off the back of a pretty remarkable night at the Emirates, with the Gunners demolishing Huddersfield 5-0 – with Wenger’s men putting in a clinical performance. Given that the Terriers have made life tough for a lot of the other sides in the Premier League this season, that’s no easy feat to achieve, so they deserve a lot of credit.

The Arsenal players, then, will go into the game feeling confident, and rightly so. Arsene Wenger has so much quality to choose from, and if a few players are at their best, Man Utd could quite easily get blown away. That could be the difference for Arsenal, and if nobody steps up, it could easily go the other way.

With that said, these 2 players will need to be at their best if Arsenal are to have any chance of beating Man Utd – agreed?

Olivier Giroud

With Alexandre Lacazette out injured, it will be up to Olivier Giroud to step up and get the goals.

He certainly has it in him, given that he has been Arsenal’s main goalscorer for the past few years, but he hasn’t had to do it on a consistent basis this season since the arrival of Lacazette.

If he fails to impress in front of goal, particularly given that Arsenal are unlikely to get many chances, it could leave the Gunners in serious trouble.

Mesut Ozil

Mesut Ozil has blown hot and cold all season long, but fortunately, he’s been on a solid run as of late.

A stellar display against Huddersfield will give him the confidence to, ideally, impress against the Red Devils – and the Gunners will need him.

Man Utd are very strong defensively, and so Arsenal will rely on his passing ability to break through what is often an unbreakable defence. If he is unable to do that, then Olivier Giroud will be forced to feed off of scraps, and that will be no help to anyone.
