Everton fans here in the Tavern are hoping for a more successful season next time around, after flirting with the possibility of relegation for large parts.
The Toffees were in a spot of bother towards the start of the current campaign as Ronald Koeman had them heading towards the Championship, but Sam Allardyce managed to save them from the depths of despair with a mid-table finish now looking likely. However, they’re still struggling for consistency and have failed to compete against the top-six, as huge improvements are needed before the start of next season.
Sadly, Everton’s awful season can be put down to a couple of players failing to carry their weight throughout, as it looks like the Toffees will be busy offloading first-team members in the summer. So, Bill Kenwright will be desperate to gather a squad that can challenge for Europe next season, after crashing out of the Europa League group stage earlier on in the current campaign.
Therefore, these TWO Everton players are to blame for the club’s awful season…
Michael Keane
Sadly, Michael Keane hasn’t managed to shine during his time at Goodison Park after making a name for himself at Burnley, as many of our local residents have been disgusted with his performances this season.
Indeed, Everton hold one of the worst defensive records in the Premier League and this can be largely put down to Keane’s efforts, as he’s been sluggish in possession and always seems to make mistakes.
Therefore, the Toffees should look to offload the defender in the summer transfer window, having been one of the biggest disappointments at the club this season.

The Dutchman has been one of the biggest transfer mistakes in the club’s recent history, as he’s failed to nail down a permanent spot in the first-team after starting the season poorly.
And, the 25-year-old doesn’t look like improving any time soon as he’s struggled to come to terms with Premier League football, after paying a hefty price for his services in the summer.
Nevertheless, Everton should look to get rid of the attacking midfielder in the summer months as one of their biggest problems, with a proven replacement helping the Merseyside club achieve their aims next season.
