Everton fans here in the Tavern are hoping that their side can make a better start to the next campaign, as they flirted with the possibility of relegation towards the start of this season. 

The Toffees will be looking to break into the European places next season after letting themselves down in the current campaign, with many of our local Evertonians wanting to see huge improvements. Indeed, it’s been tough for Sam Allardyce to incorporate youngsters into his starting XI since taking over at the club, as they’ve constantly been looking over their shoulder after making a poor start to the campaign.

Although, some of the club’s youngsters may already have their mind made up as the season comes to a close, after being sent to play their football elsewhere in the current campaign. So, a number of players could be heading for the exits as they look elsewhere for regular football, with the Toffees possibly losing out on a future star of the game.

Therefore, here’s a look at TWO Everton youngsters that should look to leave as soon as possible…

Kieran Dowell

Kieran Dowell has established himself as one of the most promising midfielders in English football so far this season, after producing some top-class performances for loan club Nottingham Forest.

Indeed, the 20-year-old has managed to produce a number of goals and assists in the current campaign as Forest’s standout performer, with many of our local Evertonians wanting to see him in the side next season.

However, a move away in the summer transfer window would be much more beneficial for the youngster, as he’s been enjoying regular football at the City Ground which can’t be guaranteed at Goodison Park.

Matthew Pennington

Matthew Pennington has spent the current campaign on loan at Championship side Leeds United, but hasn’t managed to break into the side as much as he’d of liked.

Indeed, the 23-year-old doesn’t appear to have a future at Everton as a move away in the summer looks likely, however, this would be a blessing in disguise for the defender as it would guarantee regular first-team minutes.

Therefore, Pennington should look to move away from Goodison Park in the summer transfer window, as his career would come to a standstill if he returns to the Merseyside club for next season.
