The Man City fans in the Transfer Tavern are sticking by Pep Guardiola…

At the start of the season, the Citizens in the Tavern were unanimous in their support of Pep Guardiola. The Spanish boss led Man City into a fantastic opening few weeks – with our landlord touting them to walk away with the Premier League this season.

Fast forward a couple of months, though, and things have slightly changed. Man City have been struggling at times, and in truth – they look a bit of a way off from Premier League glory this season.

This begs the question, then, if Pep Guardiola is making any mistakes at Man City – and more specifically, is he picking the wrong players?

Man City have a huge squad, and some of them simply aren’t getting the game time they deserve.

With that said, these two Man City players need to ask Guardiola for more minutes on the pitch…

Willy Caballero

Pep Guardiola gambled by signing Claudio Bravo this summer – but it has not paid off.

Being good with the ball at your feet as a goalkeeper is great, but it isn’t much use if you aren’t very good at stopping shots.

Bravo has been at fault for a number of goals so far this season, and his mistakes are beginning to seriously cost Guardiola.

Conversely, Caballero has looked good when given a chance – and he deserves an extended run in the first team.

If Guardiola wants to win, he must suck up his pride.

Leroy Sane

Leroy Sane was signed over the summer in a big money deal – but as of yet, he has been given very little chance in the Man City first team.

It is, of course, to be expected – he is a young talent with potential and needs time to develop. However, in reality, Man City are struggling – and Sane deserves a chance to show what he can do.

He has made just a handful of Premier League starts so far this season, and that is simply not enough.

Guardiola must give him a run of games so he can prove how good he is.
