The Portuguese boss has always been a divisive figure in England, with most rating his managerial skill above his off-the-field personality.
One thing that Mourinho has always had, regardless of the team that he is at, is a fixed, limited group of players that he picks from.
Unlike most managers, he will opt for a 20-man squad as opposed to a 25-man squad, in order to regularly be able to pick the same players each week.
As a result, several players get lost in the shuffle; and often some are forgotten about completely. This is something that Mourinho needs to avoid, and as a manager – he needs to start showing a lot more love.
With that said, these TWO Man Utd players need a lot more love under Mourinho….
Anthony Martial
Anthony Martial has struggled so far this year, and he has resultantly lost his place in the Man Utd first team.
Everyone in the Tavern knows exactly how good the Frenchman is, and so our landlord has been backing him for a quick return to form; but Jose Mourinho isn’t giving him the chance.
He has failed to gain much of a foothold in the Man Utd first team so far this season, and that is likely contributing to his fall from grace.
He will, eventually, get back to his best; but Jose Mourinho needs to be the man to put confidence in him – not take it away.
Bastian Schweinsteiger
The curious case of Bastian Schweinsteiger.
Despite a relatively good first season in Manchester, Jose Mourinho has seen fit to banish the German veteran from the Man Utd first team; leaving every single Red Devil in the Tavern scratching their head.
It is baffling as to why Mourinho would get rid of such an important player, both on and off the field, but such is his divisive managerial style.
However, it has been clear in recent weeks that Mourinho’s side has lacked the experience needed to challenge at the highest level – with his batch of relatively inexperienced and young stars lacking the ability to manoeuvre through a Premier League season to the title.
Granted, he won’t be able to play every week – but Schweinsteiger could still be a valuable asset for Jose Mourinho – and he must show him more love.
