It hasn’t been a great start to life in the Manchester United managerial hotseat for boss Jose Mourinho, much to the dismay of their ardent supporters here in the Transfer Tavern.

United are 11 points worse off than Premier League leaders Chelsea and the Red Devils’ season already looks to be losing momentum.

The club were expected to challenge for the league title this season and after spending in excess of £120 million during the summer, the new United boss really must start to pull his finger out.

One United fan is sat chatting to the landlord here in the Tavern and he thinks that the club are going nowhere in a hurry, stating that the club’s incapability to go on a winning run at home is extremely alarming and deems that something which the United boss must rectify quickly.

Paul Pogba

The central midfielder was signed for £89 million during the summer in a staggering deal, which saw some of the more traditional football fans here in the Tavern fall off of their bar stools and the astronomical fee.

The ex-Juventus man has not hit the ground running just yet and appears more bothered about fooling around on social media with team-mate Jesse Lingard, than he does about helping United towards the summit of the Premier League.

The 23-year-old needs to give his head a shake and start to show the form which earned him the move back to Old Trafford in the first place, because right now he looks every inch the player that Sir Alex Ferguson deemed to have no future at United way back in 2012.

Matteo Darmian

The Italian full-back looks to be on borrowed time at Manchester United and given his below-par performances this season there is very little surprise.

The 26-year-old has looked nervous when he has played for the club and given the fact that he has only deputised in the absence of injury and suspension, it doesn’t appear as though Jose Mourinho fancies the player either.

One United supporter is having a puff on his e-cigarette here in the Tavern and he thinks that Darmian has been useless this season, stating that he will drive him to his next club himself, if it meant him leaving Old Trafford.
