Newcastle United fans here in the Tavern are looking forward to next season, with the transfer window being of huge importance.

Indeed, the Magpies struggled to ensure consistency throughout the campaign just gone, as they flirted with the possibility of relegation at times. Although, Rafa Benitez did manage to steer them to safety, with many of our local residents expecting a top-half finish next season.

So, Newcastle will be desperate to enjoy a successful transfer window as this could set them up nicely for next season. Although, after only managing to bring three players in on loan during the January transfer window, Benitez will be keen to secure a couple of permanent signings.

Interestingly, it’s believed that Newcastle United are monitoring Jack Grealish’s situation, with a creative midfield being craved by the Tyneside club.

Willian Jose

The 26-year-old has enjoyed the finest season of his career at Real Sociedad, scoring 20 goals in 40 appearances.

Of course, Newcastle United struggled for goals at times this season, with Joselu often causing problems with his lack of potency in front of goal.

So, the Magpies should look to swoop for Willian Jose this summer, as he has shown that he can score goals against some of the world’s best defenders both in Europe and domestically.

The 21-year-old is set to feature for Russia as they host the World Cup this summer, so he might become a familiar figure in the very near future.

Encouragingly, the midfielder helped CSKA Moscow reach the quarter-final stages of this season’s Europa League, so he has already shown that he is capable of performing at one of the highest levels.

Aleksandr Golovin is versatile enough to play in a number of roles, but he likes to build his game around playing in a slightly defensive role, which Newcastle could definitely benefit from next season.
