It has been a good few weeks to be an Arsenal fan, with Arsene Wenger overseeing quite the turnaround after a very poor start to the season.

With no Champions League football available this season, the onus is on the Gunners to impress in the Premier League, and so they need to build a solid run of form over the next few months as they look to launch a title challenge.

Standing in their way this week is a tough test at Watford, with Marco Silva’s side certainy posing a threat to Arsenal’s dominance.

Arsene Wenger, though his side will be expected to win, cannot take the game lightly, and so his team selection needs to be perfect. As always in the Premier League, one mistake could cost him, and he needs to make sure that he picks players that can win his side the game.

With that said, these 2 players simply must start for Arsenal against Watford today – agreed?

Alex Iwobi

Alex Iwobi appears to have really come of age this season, and in Arsenal’s last Premier League game he was able to bag a goal.

That’s more than can be said of the likes of Mesut Ozil and Alexis Sanchez, who, whilst they have impressed on occasion this term, have not been able to bring forward any level of consistency.

Wenger will, of course, be eager to get Mesut Ozil back involved, but if Iwobi plays even half as well as he did last time out, then he’ll give the Gunners a real option going forward.

Jack Wilshere

Jack Wilshere has been unable to earn back his place in the first team this season, but it’s not through a lack of trying.

The Englishman has looked very good when he has played, but thus far Wenger has been keen to manage expectation and manage his fitness.

Now, though, is a perfect time, for him to make the step up back into the first team in the Premier League. He’ll offer the Gunners a creative spark and he will no doubt be keen to prove the doubters wrong.
