These 2 West Ham players would be better off at another club

A couple of weeks in football is a long time and our landlord cannot believe the turnaround at West Ham since the departure of Dimitri Payet.

Since Slaven Bilic had initially revealed Payet’s situation, the east London outfit have won three out of their last four games making the departure of the talented Frenchman a less bitter situation for our resident Hammers. It has even led to many a West Ham fan in the Tavern claiming that their side could even mount an assault on the Europa League spots.

Furthermore, it is obvious to see that the departure of Payet has been able to galvanise the West Ham squad and their performances have been much more positive since their former playmaker rejoined Marseille – meaning other players have been able to step up and really prove their worth to the Hammers.

Though with that still said, not everyone has benefited from Payet’s departure and our landlord believes these two would be better of at a different club…

Pedro Obiang

A controversial choice from our landlord among our resident West Ham fans but it is a mutual agreement that Obiang has been one of, if not West Ham’s best players this season.

The Spanish midfielder is 24-years-of-age and it’s at this point of his career where he needs to push on and engineer a move to a club which can put him at a higher standard.

After two seasons at the Hammers, Obiang may have some thinking to do in the summer – one thing is for sure though, West Ham fans certainly won’t want him to leave.

Sam Byram

First ousted by Michail Antonio, now Cheikhou Kouyate looks to have solidified the place at right-back in the Hammers line up whilst Byram has been injured.

It is one thing not being selected instead of a player who plays your position, but our landlord believes Bilic’s use of make shift right backs will dent Byram’s confidence.

Hammers fans in the Tavern will be disappointed if Byram leaves due to the expectation around him when he joined from Leeds last year but the young right back may have to leave in order to save his career.
