These 3 are the worst Arsenal strikers from the last 10 years – Thoughts?

The Arsenal fans here in the Transfer Tavern are very proud of their club, and love to talk about some of the greats to have graced Highbury and more recently, the Emirates.

There’s plenty to pick from for one of England’s biggest sides but, as is so often with football, it’s the strikers that are the most revered within a football club.

Arsenal certainly have had their fare share of class forwards.

Thierry Henry, Dennis Bergkamp and Ian Wright have all gone down in Gunners folklore for obvious reasons but for every striker you get like that, you do get some duds too.

In recent years, the Gunners and Arsene Wenger have signed a number of baffling forwards that simply haven’t cut it and our landlord thinks these THREE from the last 10 years are the worse by a country mile…

Marouane Chamakh

Maybe if the Moroccan had actually spent more time on the training pitch instead of lathering his hair with gel he’d have been a success.

What’s worse is that his hair still looked downright awful so even that couldn’t redeem him, nor Arsene Wenger for a truly appalling signing.

Nicklas Bendtner

The ego of Zlatan Ibrahimovic, the talent of, well we’ll let you decide.

The self-proclaimed Lord Bendtner talked a good game but couldn’t get anywhere near carrying that out and eventually Wenger got rid of him.

He’s now at Nottingham Forest where he seems to have reigned that confidence in a great deal but even so, he’s still got a lot to do to save his career.

Gervinho

Not neccesarily a striker, but was utilised as a forward, the Ivorian could go in simply for the world’s worst use of a headband

There’s two absolutely abhorrent things wrong with his application of said head gear, number one it’s barely controlling his hair and number two it’s severely cutting the blood supply to his brain by the looks of it.

Explains the performances on the pitch though.
