For Everton Football Club, this season marks a campaign of change and the Toffees supporters in the Transfer Tavern are feeling seriously optimistic about the campaign going forward!

The landlord still doesn’t think Ronald Koeman’s side have the muscle to compete with the top four for the entirety of the season, but it seems the Blue corner of the pub doesn’t feel his pessimism.

The Toffees have had a solid start to the campaign and have picked up a healthy seven points from nine available.

They sit fourth in the division going into the international break and it’s all looking pretty rosy going forward.

And following their decent start to the campaign, we want to go back into the vault and take a look at some of the Everton signings who have really helped their side after arriving at Goodison Park.

Gareth Barry

Everton’s vice captain, Gareth Barry joined the club on a permanent basis in the 2014/2015 season, having spent time on-loan at Goodison Park the season before.

He’s quite an unassuming figure in the middle of the park but he really does do the nitty gritty as well as anyone else in the Premier League.

His delivery and passing ability is still going strong and he marshals the defence with aplomb.

Not going to set the world on fire but a real key man in this side.

Romelu Lukaku

Perhaps a slightly more obvious selection than the first, Romelu Lukaku has been a huge player for the Toffees since his summer move from Chelsea back in 2014.

Ronald Koeman will have been delighted to have kept hold of the Belgian international this summer, and he’ll be a massive part of the Everton team going forward this season.

His pace, power and ability to finish has really developed over the past couple of years and he’ll be hoping to better his 25 goal tally from last season.

Ashley Williams

Slightly controversial one this, seeing as he’s only been at the club this summer.

But we’re tipping former Swansea stalwart Ashley Williams to go on and shine at Goodison Park and become a real figure of stability in their back four.

Time will tell how good Williams can be but if his past form is anything to go by, he’ll do just fine.
