Jose Mourinho’s Manchester United revolution is well underway, and fans of the club here in the Football Transfer Tavern are absolutely loving it.
With a number of key new players alright brought in, and with several others expected to make their way to Manchester before the end of the summer; Mourinho is reshaping the foundations of his playing squad before the start of the new season.
Unfortunately, it seems inevitable that a number of players will lose their place in the squad in order to accommodate for this new talent; meaning that pre-season may be their last opportunity to fight for their place in the team, or risk subsequently being sold by the new boss.
Our landlord thinks although it is brutal, Jose Mourinho is definitely in the results business – and as a result some players may become surplus to requirements.
Here are THREE Man Utd players that are definitely fighting for their future……
Juan Mata

Juan Mata’s departure from Man Utd almost seems inevitable at this point.
The first rumours that emerged from the club following the signing of Mourinho had nothing to do with incoming players; they were all focused around the seemingly impendent departure of Juan Mata.
It was Mourinho who of course sold Mata when at Chelsea; despite the midfielder winning back to back club Player of the Year awards; much to the dismay of Chelsea fans here in the Football Transfer Tavern.
Mata’s style of play is great to watch; but he is simply not a Mourinho player. He will have to change immiediately; or face the door.
Marcos Rojo

Another player that has long been linked with the exit door, Marcos Rojo is a signing that hasn’t really worked out for Man United.
Signed last season, Rojo hasn’t exactly lived up to expectations.
He was broiled in a number of off-the-field incidents last season; whilst his on-field displays were medicore at best. He also had a number of injuries that meant he was unable to secure a spot in that first team.
Mourinho has reportedly made him surplus to requirements, and it might be too late for Rojo at United.
Memphis Depay

A player that was brought in with lots of hype and expectation; Memphis Depay has simply failed to reach the standards that were expected of him.
The Dutch winger was seen as the side’s new talisman; in many ways expected to become the Eden Hazard of this United side; but after a few months had lost his place in the first team, instead forced to impress from the bench.
He was a big money signing; and he has definitely not repaid his price tag.
Inconsistency is a huge issue for Mourinho, so if he cannot prove during pre-season that he can still make it in England – he will no doubt be shipped out.
