Manchester City have been stuttering in the Premier League as of late and it’s safe to say some of their supporters here in the Tavern are somewhat worried.
The Citizens haven’t won in the Premier League since overcoming Swansea 3-1 at the end of September and it’s clear there is something lacking in the squad right now.
Even the landlord in here is slightly concerned after tipping Guardiola’s side to comfortably win the Premier League – and not often does he get it wrong!
So with City struggling, it’s clear new additions in the January transfer window might be the best way to get out of the rut.
David Alaba has been linked with City in recent weeks, and we want to take a look at some names who could join him at the Etihad come January.

Cesc Fabregas
In what has been a strange few weeks for City, it seems obvious that there isn’t enough solidarity in the midfield to keep clean sheets and move things forward.
With Yaya Toure’s City career effectively over, that leaves just Fernando, Fernandinho and Esmoris Tasende as the three defensive midfield options in the side.
City need more quality in this area of the park and one shout could be Cesc Fabregas, who isn’t having the best of times himself recently.
He’s struggling to get into the Chelsea XI week-after-week and he could be just the answer for Guardiola’s side.
Jérémy Mathieu
With Javier Mascherano, Samuel Umtiti, and Gerard Pique very much the favoured centre-halves at Barcelona, Jeremy Mathieu has seen his game time really stripped back in recent months.
The French international is a quality player and could do much better than bench warm at the Nou Camp. And after being crushed by the Catalonians only last week, a move for Mathieu wouldn’t be a terrible shout in the slightest.
He’s a defender with plenty of pace, who reads the game well and is physically imposing.

Serge Aurier
With Pablo Zabaleta really not showing the best form this campaign and Bacary Sagna very much on the outskirts of this City side, a player we think would add real quality to their ranks is PSG right-back Serge Aurier.
On-the-pitch, he offers explosive pace and a real attacking threat going forward.
Defensively he’s sound too, and he could be just the man to sort that right-hand side out at the Etihad.
