Manchester United are lacking some serious form right now and it’s safe to say their fans here in the Tavern are growing more and more anxious.

The Mourinho factor is definitely dying down and after their 4-0 mauling by Chelsea on Sunday afternoon, it’s clear something has to give at Old Trafford, and fast.

United were outclassed, outfought and outshone by their Premier League title rivals and it doesn’t bode well going into the Manchester derby against City in the week.

It’s clear some of United’s players are struggling on the pitch and we feel some new additions in January could be the answer to their continued struggle.

Gelson Martins has been linked with the club in recent weeks but we want to look if there are any others that could follow him to Old Trafford in the winter window.

Jose Gimenez

Atletico Madrid centre-back Jose Giminez is a man making serious waves in La Liga these days and he’s the sort of player we’d love to see at United in the very near future.

Despite being just 21-years-old, the Uruguayan international already has over 80 domestic appearances to his name and has impressed Atleti supporters with his pace and ability to read the game with relative ease.

After the departures of some big-name defensive stars, he’s finally showing the world what he can do and United should make a move because trust us, he’ll be a man in-demand for a very long time.

Yaya Toure

Whilst this one is perhaps the biggest longshot in this list, there is absolutely no reason why United shouldn’t move for Yaya Toure in January.

Even with the Citizens struggling, Pep Guardiola continues to leave the Ivorian out of his first-team plans and he is a man that could do a real job for United going forward.

Imagine he and Paul Pogba anchoring the midfield.

Surely that would offer United a serious chance of getting further up the table and closer to the summit because lets face it, their shortcomings were ruthlessly exposed by Chelsea on Sunday afternoon.

Isco

Isco has already admitted that he could leave Real Madrid several times over the past few months, and he’s a player that would bring a real quality to their forward line.

In recent weeks (barring the 4-1 win over a poor Fenerbahce side), United have looked a little scarce going forward, somewhat devoid of creative ideas to open the game up in their favour.

Meanwhile Isco is a player who has been doing just that his whole career and doing it well too.

Game-time is difficult for him to come by amidst the super-stars at the Bernabeu and a transfer to Old Trafford isn’t a bad shout in the slightest.
