Chelsea continued their unbeaten start to the Premier League season under new manager Antonio Conte, as they were held to a 2-2 draw by Swansea in a thrilling tie at the Liberty Stadium on the weekend.

The Blues had dominated the first half and deservedly took the lead through a fine finish from Diego Costa who capitalised on some poor Swansea defending.

It wasn’t until the second half that the action truly begun however, and the game quickly turned on its head thanks to two quick fire goals from the home side.

A Gylfi Sigurdsson penalty followed by a controversial goal from in-form Leroy Fer – who appeared to foul Gary Cahill in the build-up – gave Francesco Guidolin’s side a shock lead.

Chelsea piled on the pressure however, and an 81st minute over-head kick from that man Costa levelled the score to give both sides a hard fought point.

While the result may be seen as a slip-up for the Blues – who undoubtedly should have taken all 3 points from the Liberty – it still means they are unbeaten in all competitions under Italian Conte and sit second in the Premier League, behind only Manchester City who have won all four of their games so far.

Pride and Passion

If there is anyone to thank for Chelsea’s turn around in fortunes this season after the disaster that was the 2015/16 campaign, it is this man.

Just look at him!

His pride and passion seem to have reinvigorated the players, particularly Diego Costa who he can be seen embracing/terrifying here.

Leaky defence

While they have been a force going forward, Chelsea still look leaky at the back.

I felt the best way to sum up their defensive woes was with this Sol Campbell tackle.

The effort is certainly there, but the end product – not so great.

It is something Antonio Conte will need to fix – and sharpish – if Chelsea are to amount a real title challenge.

Despite the above, it has still been party time at Stamford Bridge so far this season.

The dark clouds seem to have lifted, and after Jose Mourinho lost his first game in charge of Manchester United this weekend, the Chelsea faithful have been looking somewhat like this little fella I’m sure.
