Do Not Sell My Personal Information

These 4 Man Utd players must be sold by Mourinho immediately – Agreed?

In recent years, Jose Mourinho has become renowned for his ruthless management style, especially in the context of his transfer policy.

This was perhaps most clearly demonstrated during his time with Chelsea, when he chose to sell fan favourite Juan Mata, despite his back-to-back Chelsea player of the year awards.

In a strange turn of events, the future of Juan Mata is in his hands again; but the punters here at the Tavern think it would be a shocking decision to let the Spaniard leave once again.

Instead, United fans here in the Tavern think that there are a number of players that United should be looking to get rid of first in order for Mourinho to build his new look side.

Here are FOUR of these players that MUST be sold by Mourinho immediately this summer….

Phil Jones

Phil Jonesm

When Phil Jones was signed from Blackburn, he seemed destined to become a United legend.

After impressing in the final game of the season against his future club, Sir Alex Ferguson made the move for the youngster, and in his first season he duly repaid his faith.

However, since then it has all been downhill for the young Englishman.

A number of reoccurring injuries have really hampered his progress, and his talent has stagnated over the last few years.

He isn’t of the quality that Mourinho needs to really grow his new look United side, so he wouldn’t get the game time that he needs to try and restart his career.

A move would work for both parties.

Adnan Januzaj

Januzaj

Another youngster that seemed to have it all when he burst onto the scene was Adnan Januzaj.

After being handed the number 11 shirt following Ryan Giggs’ retirement; big things were expected from the youngster.

However since then he has floundered as a rotation player, and after a failed loan at Dortmund; the future looks bleak for the midfielder as a Manchester United player.

Mourinho is not a man renowned for playing young players; and so his chances at United will get even worse under their new manager.

Januzaj is wasted at United and so he must leave; perhaps with a buy back clause involved just incase he regains the potential that he had just 2 years ago.

Ashley Young

Ashley Young

Another player that has suffered largely with injuries over the last few years is Ashley Young.

He has had spots of brilliance over the last few years, but really lacks the consistency and overall fitness that is required for a Mourinho winger.

He has been an excellent servant to the club, and he would serve a role as a rotation player; but at 30 years old he really needs to play football.

He could certainly do a job at a mid-table side, and a move could be in the best interest for player and club at this point.

Marouane Fellaini

Marouane Fellaini has certainly done a job for United during his time with them.

He offers something fairly unique in that he is an attacking midfielder that offers height and power; a rare commodity in the modern day playmaker.

But here at the Tavern, whenever his name is announced in the starting line up, United fans all let out a collective ‘sigh’.

His style of football is not attractive, and unlike much of United’s first team; he does not offer anything really exciting.

Some might say that this would be perfect for Jose Mourinho’s style of play, but in order for the Portuguese to succeed at United; he needs to branch out and adopt a more attacking style.

To put it simply; Fellaini is a barrier to that possessive dominating style of play that Mourinho will have to utilise as he looks to cement a legacy at United, and so he must leave this summer.
