The Portuguese manager’s name looked to have been wrecked by Chelsea’s abysmal season where Mourinho was sacked before the new year.
Mourinho is a man who digs success and will simply not be satisfied with anything other than league titles and trophies.
Manchester United are a club wrapped in history and success and likewise, don’t expect anything other than glory.
The United squad at this moment in time, is just not good enough to win the title despite their FA Cup success this term. United scored just 49 goals in the league.

Gonzalo Higuain
Higuain played for Mourinho during his tenure at Real Madrid.
Since then, the Argentinian forward has become one of the best strikers in the world, scoring 36 goals in just 35 matches in Serie A this year.
The 28-year-old would not come cheap, but United are almost begging for goals nowadays and Higuain would certainly bring plenty of net-busters to Old Trafford, the ground that saw the least goals in the Premier League this season.
Edinson Cavani
Zlatan Ibrahimovic is reportedly a target for Manchester United according to the Daily Mail, but his PSG team-mate may be a far more suitable option.
The Uruguayan scored 25 goals and provided 7 assists this season, the kind of striker that Man United fans at the Tavern have been dreaming about.
Robert Lewandowski
This transfer is seriously unrealistic as the lethal Polish forward would be giving up Champions League football and most probably, a league title medal for his collection, at least for a year. Lewandowski is the first man in 39 years to score 30 goals in a Bundesliga campaign, and the 27-year-old would be the perfect man to fire United back to the glory days of Sir Alex Ferguson.
Mauro Icardi
Another man for one of Mourinho’s former clubs, but Icardi has never played for the Special One.
The 23- year-old grabbed 16 goals for Inter Milan this season and has become a fan favourite at the San Siro.
The Argentinian international would be a great signing for Mourinho as he provides goals, assists and flair to his side, three elements that Man United certainly lack.
Karim Benzema
Why not? The Landlord at the Tavern loves the idea of Benzema ripping the net at Old Trafford.
The French forward isn’t going to EURO 2016 due to off the pitch reasons, but there is no denying the 28- year-old’s quality.
Benzema scored 24 goals in 27 games in La Liga this term as well as providing 8 assists.
