Liverpool may not have been watching their side play last night (Tuesday), but many fans were evidently glued to their television screens nonetheless. Lots of supporters, it seems, were watching Liverpool rivals Man Utd in the Carabao Cup, with the Red Devils taking on Derby County in the third-round tie.
Whilst the result, a Derby win, was a headline in of itself, something else has caught the eye of the Anfield faithful.
Of course, we can only be referring to the stunning goal scored by Liverpool loanee Harry Wilson. The 21-year-old is at Derby for the season, naturally aiming to impress enough to get a chance at Anfield, and he didn’t disappoint.
He capped off an otherwise fantastic display with an even better goal. A sizzling free kick from some distance brought the game back level for the Rams – and it gave them the fire needed to go on and eventually take the lead, though it did end up going to penalties.
Nonetheless, whilst the game didn’t directly concern Liverpool, the Reds online are delighted regardless. They’re touting the 21-year-old’s goal as special, and many are clearly hoping that he’ll have a future at Anfield. In particular, though, they’re just delighted with the stunning strike he produced.
