The Chelsea fans in the Transfer Tavern are very excited about the future of Charly Musonda. The Belgian is arguably the man of the moment within the Chelsea academy, and alongside Andreas Christensen, he looks set to have a real impact in the Blues’ first team over the coming weeks and months.
It’s no real surprise, then, that Antonio Conte is keen to keep hold of the Belgian. According to the Evening Standard, Conte doesn’t want to let him leave in January on loan, with the Italian clearly having big plans for the attacker.
It’s certainly a show of faith from the manager, but undoubtedly, it’s the correct decision. There are a multitude of reasons as to why he should stay, and against Everton on Wednesday evening, he’ll no doubt prove his manager right.
Until then, here are 2 reasons why he simply must be at the club next year – agreed?
Lack Of Depth

At present, Chelsea are looking fairly short with regards to attacking depth.
Though Charly Musonda hasn’t featured much this season, that doesn’t mean that won’t change as the season progresses. As the Carabao Cup continues, the FA Cup comes into view and the Premier League and the Champions League carry on, the Blues are going to have games nearly every few days.
The same players can’t play in every game, and so Conte is going to have to look beyond the likes of Willian, Pedro and Eden Hazard. Undoubtedly, during this period, Charly Musonda is bound to feature frequently.
Bright Future

Charly Musonda has proven that he is a talented player, and he’s only going to get better over the coming years.
Against Nottingham Forest, he was the star of the show. Providing attacking quality and a strong work ethic, he showed so much potential.
As he continues to feature and train, the Belgian is only going to get better and better. Chelsea can’t afford to lose that, and another loan could prove detrimental to his progression. Conte won’t want a repeat of his failed second year at Real Betis.
