It was a convincing, if expected, win last night for Arsenal in the Champions League as they got the job done over Ludogorets with a 6-0 scoreline.
It left the Gunners fans here in the Transfer Tavern in fine voice as they proclaimed they are going to win the group, something they’ve needed to do for a while, before going on to really challenge this season.
That might be a bit premature with Barcelona making the best team in the league so far look like a bunch of amateurs but, nevertheless, you can’t deny Arsenal have been looking impressive in recent weeks.
After a slow start to the season they are truly flying now with Theo Walcott on fire and Mesut Ozil looking like he’s found his shooting boots with a hat-trick last night.
The pick of the goals from yesterday’s game, though, came from the Chilean Alexis Sanchez as he opened the scoring with a sublime lofted effort and in that, simultaneously earned him this incredible record courtesy of @Squawka on Twitter:

That stat has now become slightly irrelevant with the Gunners scoring five more after the Chilean but at the time of his goal he’d been involved a great deal. Incredible!
