This is why Man City should sell Sergio Aguero if they win the Champions League

Manchester City fans here in the Tavern are hoping that their side can go all the way in the Champions League, as they’re on course for a treble in the current campaign.

The Citizens have been arguably the best team in world football so far this season, as they’ve nearly wrapped up the Premier League title and have already secured silverware in the Carabao Cup. Indeed, Pep Guardiola has been sensational in what’s now his second season with the Manchester Club, after finishing in a disappointing third position last time out.

Although, securing the Champions League trophy could see City strengthen in a couple of areas in the summer transfer window, as they’ll look to bring in some fresh legs to defend their title in the next campaign. Indeed, our local residents believe that the club need to bring in a new striker in the summer months, as many have fallen out of love with Sergio Aguero this season.

Therefore, here’s a look at TWO reasons as to why Manchester City should sell Sergio Aguero if they win the Champions League…

Pick and choose

Manchester City remain on course for silverware in this season’s Champions League competition, as they continue to dominate in Europe. Of course, if City manage to secure the trophy in the current campaign then a number of high-quality players may want to make the switch to the Etihad, meaning that City could acquire pretty much whoever they want in the summer months.

Indeed, Sergio Aguero has been banging in the goals for the Citizens once again in the current campaign, but there are other attacking players in world football that could offer more to the club moving forward.

Therefore, if City win the Champions League then Pep Guardiola should make the most of being crowned the best team in Europe, by selling the 29-year-old to make room for a number of world-class additions that can ensure success for years to come.

Cash in

Aguero picked up a knee injury prior to their win over Stoke City and has struggled on numerous occasions throughout his Manchester City career, as injuries continue to halt the Argentine’s progress.

Although the forward has been producing some magnificent goalscoring figures as he reaches his peak, it’s typically going to be all downhill in years to come. And, with Gabriel Jesus already showing that he’s got what it takes to become one of the world’s best, Aguero could become needless as an ageing squad member next season.

Therefore, City should look to cash in on his services while he’s still at the top of his game, so that they can then go out and spend the money on a world-class replacement.
