Manchester United have got themselves off to a near perfect start this time round, and despite dropping their first points of the season against Stoke last weekend, they look every bit capable of winning trophies this term.
The squad looks to have an abundance of depth and ability within the ranks, and Jose Mourinho will be confident he can deliver winning ways back to Old Trafford at the highest level following League Cup and Europa League success last year.
Our landlord here at the Tavern has been very impressed himself with the situation United find themselves in, and he believes that one of those squad players could prove to be an excellent player for the club this season.
That player? Italian defender Matteo Darmian.
The Italian defender, who’s versatility was a key factor for United last season, has been used again by Mourinho already this season in numerous defensive roles, and he is already proving just how valuable he is for his club.
His ability to fill in at both right back, left back, and in central defence if needed, means over the course of a tough season across numerous competitions, Darmian will prove invaluable for Jose Mourinho.
While he will never get the plaudits of some of this teammates, Darmian will this year show why he is so important to the team and will no doubt play in the majority of games in some fashion over the course of the campaign.
