Chelsea fans here in the Tavern are becoming more and more concerned over the rifts occurring behind the scenes.

The Blues have had a season full of turns and twists, as they continue to endure their roller coaster ride of a season. Having played 11 games, they find themselves on the receiving end of waving goodbye to any chances of the title. Starting the season in such a questionable manner, it’s all led to Antonio Conte being a subject of an awful lot of criticism.

In recent times, Chelsea have certainly picked up their form, as they boost their position of a Champions League place with a 1-0 win against rivals Manchester United.

However, an improvement in the Champions League is needed due to their emphatic loss at the hands of AS Roma, which has put them in an unwanted battle for the first seed spot after being in a commanding position.

Rifts, arguments and disagreements have all be the subject of problems for the club so far, with the manager struggling to hold things down originally with Diego Costa and now troubled times with David Luiz. So for a shaken squad, improvements are definitely going to be needed as the international break approaches.

David Luiz

David Luiz has had the definition of a mixed bag season for the Blues. After a strong start conjuring up a couple of goals for the club, he then took a downturn as a disagreement triggered a rift in the camp between himself and Conte.

Ever since that day in Rome, the centre-back has lived his life in the stands in what turns out to be a sour chapter in his second Chelsea coming.

When the gaffer spoke after their weekend clash with United, he stated that, ‘he has to work really hard, otherwise he is on the bench or in the stands.’

So for a player that has been the downfall to his own demise, he is really going to need to step his game up during the international break if he is to have a future with the club.

Willian

After hitting the heights of two POTY awards back in 2016, his Chelsea career has come to somewhat of a halt.

The Brazilian has figured for 11 starts so far this season but has pulled off some pretty underwhelming figures to go with this, having scored only 1 goal and assisted 1 time.

These types of figures have been what’s pushed him out of the side of late, as his dedication to the club has seemingly diminished.

If he is to force his way back into the lineup with the way results have gone recently, then he is going to need to really pull his socks up as he starts to fade out of the limelight in the hearts of the Stamford Bridge faithful.

Danny Drinkwater

It would be unfair to label this man a flop, given the short period of time he’s been at the club and taking into account his injury. But since joining the club, he hasn’t particularly been in the plans of the gaffer, as he spends his time living life on the bench.

For someone who’s breaking into the England squad and has recently played a vital part in a Premier League title, he really does need to start impressing.
