‘Tie down Sane first’ - Man City fans call for another contractual agreement on Twitter

The Manchester City supporters were celebrating in the Transfer Tavern last night after they sealed their place in the Carabao Cup final following a 5-3 aggregate victory over Bristol City.

Pep Guaridola’s dream of lifting four trophies this season was maintained last night as his City slickers moved into the final of the Carabao Cup after defeating Lee Johnson’s valiant Bristol City side. The Robins showed exactly how they made it to the penultimate round of the competition with their impressive pair of performances against the Premier League Leaders, but City’s quality ultimately prevailed in the end.

Following a relatively frustrating first-half for City, Leroy Sane broke the deadlock at Ashton Gate by placing a right-footed effort into the bottom-corner after Bernardo Silva worked dilligently to recover possession inside Bristol City’s penalty area.

The German international later provided an assist for Kevin De Bruyne to score the winning goal on the night in stoppage time, which took his tally of assists to 13 for the season in all-competitions.

City’s hierarchy appear to be in the mood for ensuring the continuity of success at the club by offering their key players long-term contracts, and the supporters on Twitter are hoping that a deal will be concluded for Sane’s future by the end of the season.

Nicolas Otamendi and Kevin De Bruyne were both recently rewarded with new deals for their fine form this season, and according to The Daily Mirrror, Raheem Sterling is next in line for a contract extension.

However, the City fans are concerned that Sane’s fantastic performances will attract interest from some of Europe’s top clubs, unless they offer him an improved contract before the World Cup begins in the summer.

I agree get Sane a new contract before Jesus, but Sane’s contract is through 2021 or 2022 (can’t remember which), sterling only until 2020.
