‘Took the easy way out’ - Man City fans fuming as £4.5m-rated attacker comments on transfer

Manchester City fans in the Transfer Tavern have been reacting to comments made by their former youth player, Jadon Sancho. 17-year-old Sancho left Manchester for Germany when he signed for Borussia Dortmund back in summer 2017. A story in the Sunday Times has revealed comments made by Sancho as to why he swapped the Premier League for the Bundesliga, claiming that at Dortmund, it doesn’t matter how old you are, if you’re good enough then you’ll play.

Sancho, who won the U17 World Cup with England last year, has made six Bundesliga appearances with Dortmund this season, including a man of the match performance away Hertha Berlin back in January. The left-winger, who’s been valued at £4.5 million by Transfermarkt, is yet to score for Borussia Dortmund’s first team but is still enjoying a successful first season in Germany.

Manchester City fans are far from happy with Sancho’s recent comments, however, as a contract dispute between Sancho and the club became a problem before the talented youngster was snapped up by Dortmund in summer. This has led to a number of the Citizens propping our bar up taking a pop at Sancho after they read his comments about why he left the Etihad last summer.

Took the easy way out. If he thought he was good enough, he would have stayed and fought it out. And with Jesus being injured for so long, he would have had plenty of games. Now Diaz has an easier path through.

I dont hate him but certainly don’t like him either. For starters he really thought at 17 he’s earned first team football? He has talent but seriously lacks maturity. Proved he’s not a fighter by not staying for fight for a start just wants it on a silver platter smh.
