Tottenham supporters have yet another reason to celebrate here in the Football Transfer Tavern this transfer deadline day.
Reports from the Daily Star suggest the club have pipped both Liverpool and Newcastle United to the signing of MK Dons starlet Dele Alli.
The 18-year-old is one of the hottest young talents in English football and has been described by some as the ‘new Steven Gerrard.’
Liverpool, Newcastle and Premier League strugglers Aston Villa have all registered an interest but it is Mauricio Pochettino’s side who appear to have won the race for his signature with the North London side agreeing a £5 million deal with the Dons.
Dele Alli looks set to sign before the close of the transfer window at 11pm this evening and will then return to Stadium:MK on loan for the rest of the season.
The midfielder has scored 12 goals for Karl Robinson’s side this season and will now travel to London in order to complete a medical.
The news comes just hours after it was announced Harry Kane has signed a new five-year contract at White Hart Lane.
