The Premier League is finally back. After months of disappointment in the transfer window, Tottenham fans were finally able to celebrate their football club when they overcame Newcastle 2-1 at St James Park on Saturday. One of the key moments for the fans, though, was seeing young Luke Amos make his debut off the bench, a moment that he’s been talking about on the Spurs website.

Luke Amos played a prominent role in the club’s pre-season and now it looks like Mauricio Pochettino is trusting the impressive young midfielder with a chance in the first team. His substitute appearance against Newcastle is likely just going to be the start as he aims to follow in the footsteps of Harry Kane and Harry Winks as young prodigies to find their way through the academy and break into the senior squad.
Tottenham have one of the most impressive academies in English football, with a number of players coming through and going on to make it in the professional game, inside and outside of Tottenham. Amos, though, looks like he has the potential to be the next big thing and the way he’s burst onto the scene already this summer and now against Newcastle has a lot of fans believing that he can be a mainstay of their side in years to come.

As you can see, the excitement around Amos is real and the fans will be delighted if he can get some more minutes under Mauricio Pochettino this season.
