Christian Eriksen, on his day, is one of the best footballers in the Premier League. The Danish midfielder has it in his locker to pluck goals and assists from absolutely nowhere, yet over the last month or so he hasn’t looked anywhere near his best, and the Lilywhites have been slating him for his poor efforts.
Yesterday’s clash against Newcastle saw the 26-year-old have an indifferent game. The midfielder did have two efforts cleared off the line which would have been goals on another day, however, his creative output was shockingly poor and he never looked influencing the game. Newcastle fans made things tough for Eriksen with their deep block, but it should have been one that the Dane could break down.
In the end, Heung-Min Son came to Tottenham’s rescue to save the top six side their blushes. Unfortunately, it wasn’t a convincing win but that won’t matter in the grand scheme of things. What will matter is Eriksen’s form and if he can’t start to impress sooner or later then he may have a few of the fans calling for him to be dropped, which would have been unimaginable a couple of months ago.

The Lilywhites are desperate to get more out of Eriksen and will hope the midfielder can finally get back to his best before the Champions League returns.
