Christian Eriksen was a passenger yesterday as Tottenham fell to a 2-1 defeat at Vicarage Road. The magical Danish midfielder has the ability to win Spurs a game on his own but he’s yet to show that so far this season. Granted, we’re only four games in, but the fans still aren’t happy and would happily see him on the bench for the clash against Jurgen Klopp’s side at Wembley in two weeks.

Eriksen has played every single minute of Tottenham’s season so far and it’s got to the point where a lot of Spurs fans are keen to see him miss out soon. The Danish midfielder has been coasting through games as of late and had very little impact yesterday as he side fell to a 2-1 defeat at the hands of a very physical Watford side. The Lilywhites had a chance to go level with Liverpool and Chelsea and win four from four but instead, they watched on as Watford did just that.
It’s hard to make a case for any of the Watford starting eleven breaking into the Spurs squad, but that didn’t stop them from pulling off a spectacular smash and grab and winning the game 2-1 in the second half after set-piece goals from Troy Deeney and Craig Cathcart cancelled out an earlier Abdoulaye Doucoure own-goal. Tottenham look like a side in need of some inspiration and when they face Liverpool in two weeks time, it wouldn’t be a shock to see Eriksen dropped for the returning Heung-Min Son.

Unpopular opinion but there’s no inbetween with Eriksens he’s either a passenger or a game changer – more so passenger in recent games – needs to be benched so he knows his place is under threat as he’s got it easy starting every game regardless of his performance

Maybe if Eriksen managed to pass the ball accurately and decisively, we’d have had a bit more impetus going forward. Not just his fault by any means, but he was poor.

The fans are sick of Eriksen coasting through matches and want to see him either dropped or performing back to his best.
