Tottenham Hotspur closed in on the top four positions in the Premier League on Sunday by securing a 2-0 victory against current champions Manchester City.
The win saw Spurs move to fifth place in the table, meaning that they leapfrogged Sheffield United, Manchester United and Wolves and moved to within just four points of fourth-placed Chelsea (BBC Sport).
Plenty of Jose Mourinho’s men produced good performances against City, but one man who came in for specific praise on social media for his display was midfielder Harry Winks.
The England international, 24, was starting his fourth Premier League fixture in a row (Transfermarkt) and he did very well, particularly defensively. Indeed he managed to make three clearances, win two interceptions and win three of his five ground duels in the 90 minutes, whilst also successfully completing one dribble (SofaScore).
He will be hoping to continue with the solid performances in order to cement one of the central midfield spots for Spurs during the next few months as he looks to win a place in Gareth Southgate’s Euro 2020 squad.
