Tottenham Hotspur are interested in signing Manchester City centre-back John Stones in the summer transfer window, that is according to a report from TEAMtalk.
It is suggested that City are set to overhaul their squad ahead of the 2020/21 season and that the 25-year-old is one of the players that Pep Guardiola would be looking to move on. However, Spurs could face competition for his signature with their north London rivals Arsenal thought to be keen as well as his former club Everton.
Stones hasn’t been a regular for the Citizens this term, featuring in just 12 of their Premier League fixtures including 10 starts (Transfermarkt). He has struggled defensively when he has played, averaging just 1.2 tackles and 0.7 interceptions per game, making two errors leading to shots whilst the team have kept just two clean sheets when he has been involved in the league (SofaScore).

According to the report, the 2018/19 Premier League champions would be looking to get their money back on the England international, having spent £47.5 million to take him from the Toffees back in 2016 (BBC Sport).
Tottenham definitely need defensive reinforcements in the summer having shipped 40 goals in 29 league games this season so far (BBC Sport). However, it seems that the majority of their fans wouldn’t be too keen on bringing in Stones as they don’t rate him. One even suggests that they would rather have Federico Fazio, a man who played just 32 times for the club and is often considered a Spurs flop (talkSPORT).

Tell me this is a joke. How many goals has Stones gifted the opposition when he has played.
