Tottenham Hotspur are set to enter the race to sign Brentford forward Said Benrahma in the January transfer window, that is according to a report from the Sunday Times (Print Edition, 22nd December 2019).
The 24-year-old has been one of the standout performers in the Championship in the last two seasons.
Indeed, last term he netted 10 goals and provided 15 assists in his 38 league appearances (Transfermarkt) and has continued to do well this term with three goals and six assists so far (Transfermarkt).
It is not just Spurs who are thought to be interested in him either, with the report also suggesting that Aston Villa are in the race, which makes sense as their manager, Dean Smith, knows the Algerian from their time together at Brentford.
There has been a mixed response from Spurs supporters on social media following the link to Benrahma. Whilst some think he is a good player, comparing him to Eden Hazard, others aren’t sure that he is a necessary signing.
Here is what some have said about potentially signing the winger on Twitter…
Very good player seen him a few times he is destined to be at a top club trust me

He’s a good player but not for us.
Get Clarke back.
Victor osimhen will be a good buy in attack.
Fullbacks must be priority.
