Tottenham have now made an out-of-window approach for Real Betis forward Borja Iglesias as manager Antonio Conte personally sets his sights on the Spaniard.

The Lowdown: Spurs make transfer plans...

Spurs are reportedly making transfer plans ahead of the looming summer window with reports suggesting that a centre-back is firmly on the agenda.

The Premier League top four hopefuls will need to show Conte that they're serious about backing him behind-the-scenes with the Italian's contract set to expire at the end of this season.

Spurs have the option to extend his current deal but there is still uncertainty surrounding his future.

Yet, according to a new report, Conte is believed to already be eyeing a new forward for Tottenham this summer.

The Latest: Conte eyeing Iglesias move...

According to Spanish sources, Tottenham are one of the sides to have 'asked' about Iglesias' situation at Real Betis alongside Inter Milan and Juventus.

It is also believed that Conte likes the 30-year-old 'a lot' and would 'welcome' his signing at Spurs - especially considering star striker Harry Kane could depart by 2024.

The Verdict: Great player...

Called 'fantastic' by members of the media, Iglesias has been a star player for Betis and carries much experience at the top level in La Liga.

As per WhoScored, the Spaniard ranks among their best-performing players by average match rating overall and attempts more shots at goal per 90 than any Betis player.

As a result of his major threat going forward, Iglesias is also Betis' top goal scorer in the Spanish top flight with nine this season and a further three assists.

His attacking potency will be a major draw for Conte and perhaps Son Heung-min's decline in form this campaign is another reason to make a move.
